We don’t give ourselves enough credit. We so easily put ourselves down and tell ourselves that we aren’t good enough, or that we aren’t worthy of reaching a certain goal, or worthy of continuing on.
We make mistakes and we beat ourselves up. That mistake and the feelings of guilt that come along with it, may stay at the forefront of our minds.
You are not alone. I’ve been struggling with my self-confidence this last week or two. I’ve been second guessing what I am saying or doing and kicking myself about past decisions that I should have decided differently.
But we can’t change any of that. We can’t change the past, as much as we can’t control the future. Even though we can’t change or control, we are still worthy – of love, compassion and forgiveness. There comes a point where things become too heavy and overwhelming and you feel like you may break, let yourself break into the arms of those who love you, and always remember that this moment or any past moment, doesn’t define you or your worth. We are going to make mistakes, we are going to fall down and feel like we can’t get up, we are going to cry, but we are also going to have wonderful life experiences, we are going to laugh, we are going to build beautiful lives, and we are going to experience the beauty and challenge of tomorrow that pushes us to grow, if we only just continue to believe in ourselves and our worth and trust the journey.
Your worth and value are internal. You are worthy just by being you. You were worthy yesterday, you are worthy today and you will be worthy tomorrow. You don’t need accomplishments, fancy medals or awards or validation from others to recognize that you are worthy. You are on this earth for a reason, never lose sight of who you are and all the beautiful things you bring to this world.
I have been struggling lately too, for so many different reasons. Last night, the bottled up feelings from my week came out in full force. All of the uncertainty, the anger at myself, the lack of confidence, the feeling of too much on my plate, came out. But it was freeing, and I said to myself, I may not feel great today, but I am saying to myself, dear tomorrow – who I am today, is good enough to meet you.
Never forget that you are worthy of reaching your tomorrow. Keep going, keep fighting. We are good enough as we are.
Be Beautifully Simply You
