You Have The Power To Reclaim Your Voice

My therapist today asked me what I want my future to look like. We talked about many things, but at the end of my session, I realized that what I want my future to look like is to have the ability to come back to the me that I want to be and begin reclaiming myself and my voice and my needs.

I’ve been through a lot these last couple of months and the things that have happened have unfortunately played a toll on my sense of self-worth, something I’ve worked so hard to build. I’m going through some big life changes and they’re hard and I think I’ve been so laser focused on trying to prevent those changes, resisting those changes, feeling so sad about those changes that I haven’t realized just how much they’ve affected me.

If this resonates with you, maybe you too have had a shift in your life where you experienced pain, trauma, confusion, or a loss of yourself. I hope you can join me on this journey of reclaiming yourself again. If you feel like you’ve been silenced, that your voice shouldn’t be heard, that’s not the truth. If you feel like you don’t recognize yourself anymore, or you don’t feel beautiful or good enough, that’s far from the truth. I think the beautiful and powerful thing about life is that you have the opportunity to begin again and start over and ultimately reclaim yourself and decide who you want to be and what your future will look like.

I honestly don’t know what reclaiming my voice and my self-worth looks like for me this time around, I just know I’ve done it before and I will do it again. I will pull from tools I’ve used in the past and create new tools. And I just know it’s going to be beautiful on the other side of this. I can’t wait to be able to fully embrace myself again and for the first time in my life allow myself to be authentically me in all spaces, not just select ones.

I write this as I hear my daughter playing downstairs with the babysitter and I want her to know that feeling sad and losing yourself does not make you a failure. I want to reclaim myself so that she knows she is capable and worthy of doing that for herself one day.

So I hope if you’re struggling, that you take this journey with me. I hope that you know that even if things don’t look the way you wanted them to, that you have the power and the opportunity to rewrite the story, to reclaim your energy, to reclaim what’s best for you. You are not stuck. I am not stuck. We can break free yet again from any chains that have held us back. We can breathe, we can have faith, we can continue on. Even if it’s messy or uncertain right now, we can continue on.

I hope you join me in reclaiming whatever it is about you that you may have lost.

Xo,

Be Beautifully Simply You
